East Longmeadow and Wilbraham offices.
We seek an experienced, organized individual to join Pediatric Services of Springfield.
The goal for this position is to provide ease of access, prompt, courteous service and responsiveness to our patient's concerns.
Responsibilities for this position include being the first point of contact with patients, either personally or by telephone.
Schedule appointments, enter administrative information into computerized database and assist with billing/clinical transaction function.
The ideal candidate will have two-three years of previous experience in a health care facility, customer service skills and familiarity with medical terminology.

Full-time is 36 hours per week.
Reporting Level Wilbraham Office Lead Essential Duties & Responsibilities Greet incoming patients to the office.
Obtain any new information and collect co-pays.
Schedule patients for efficient patient flow and delivery of quality care as per established policies and procedures Answer any incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff.
Enter administrative information into computerized database.
May complete and/or input billing/clinical transaction information.
Review and verify patient coverage of insurance or other agencies and compute the charges to be paid by the patient.
Collect co-pays prior to the patient being seen by the provider per established policies and procedures.
Inform patients of their outstanding balance, collect balance and issue cash receipt when monies are collected.
Work closely with medical and nursing staff to assure smooth patient flow and cut down on waiting time.
Communicate patient's problem or concern to the Practice Manager Perform support functions including call and remind patient of appointment; follow-up on no-show patients, distributing faxes on a timely basis; data entry; general filing, making copies, etc.
Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or GED, plus two to three years of clerical/administrative support experience (health care facility); or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability and willingness to treat all patients with kindness and consideration in the most trying situations.
Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious, and economic status.
Ability to handle multiple functions.
Ability to relate to patients, familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedures.
Communicate patient's problems to the medical staff.
Knowledge of HIPPA, bookkeeping and office functions.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands Standard office environment.
Work is generally light to medium with considerable variety.
Daily work involves moving within the facility.
Sitting for extended period of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment.
Requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision.
