DESCRIPTION Welcoming and greeting all patients Verifying patient insurance Collecting co-pays and co-insurance payments Updating demographics and insurance information in the EMR Obtaining prior authorizations and insurance referrals when necessary Answering the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner, using proper telephone etiquette and documentation.
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean, organized and compliant with the HIPAA Privacy Rule Facilitates patient flow by notifying the providers of patient's arrival, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff Scheduling and canceling appointments for providers Sorting faxes into the appropriate area of the EMR Required Skills & Abilities:
Communicates effectively both orally and personally as well as demonstrates courtesy and tact when dealing with patients.
Professional appearance required.
Ability to remain flexible in a work environment Knowledge of Eclinical Works EMR system (Prefered) Required to have computer knowledge (PC based) High School Diploma or Equivalent Medical Assistant Degree Program Completion, new graduates welcome to apply Job Type:
